The Alzheimer’s Arkansas Walks
2008 Teams
Teams are two or more people who attend the Walk together. Each team
designates a Team Captain who coordinates the team’s efforts and acts as
a liaison with The Alzheimer’s Arkansas Walk Committee. Each Team
Captain is responsible for ensuring that all
forms are completed and turned prior
to the Walk.
Walker Categories
1. Corporate Teams — consist of co-workers, family members
and friends from a business in the community, such as Baldwin and
Shell Construction or a local hospital or nursing home.
Eligible for the following Recognition:
a. Top Fundraising ($) Team
b. Team with the Most (#) Members Present**
2. Community Teams — consist of friends and/or members of
churches, clubs, sororities and other community-based organizations,
such as The Area Agency on Aging or Second Presbyterian Church or
The Lions Club.
Eligible for the following Recognition:
a. Top Fundraising ($) Team
b. Team with the Most (#) Members Present**
3. Family Teams — consist of family members and their
friends who have been personally touched by the affects of
Alzheimer’s or another dementia. Normally these teams walk in memory
of or honor of their family member with the disease.
Eligible for the following Recognition:
a. Top Fundraising ($) Team
b. Team with the Most (#) Members Present**
4. Individual - Persons may walk individually
Eligible for the following Recognition:
a. Top Individual ($) Fundraiser
All teams compete within their Walker Category for prizes and
recognition. Please be sure to indicate the walker category for your
team on the Team Registration Form.
The Alzheimer’s Arkansas Walk does not require a registration fee;
however, a minimum donation of $25 is required to qualify for a Walk
T-shirt, while supplies last.
**Team size is judged by the number of walkers present on Walk
day**
**It is the responsibility of the Team Captain to register all
members**
What to do NOW
- Determine what type of team you wish to register..
- Complete and mail the Team Registration Form or fax it to 501-227-6303.
- Consider what your fundraising goal will be.
- Start recruiting your team; teams can be small or large.

What to do in the coming weeks
- Develop a strategy for fundraising.
- Keep track of your progress.
- Communicate your team's progress to all team members. Using email is
quick and easy..
- Remind your team members that for every $25 raised, your team
receives a free Walk T-shirt, while supplies last.
Early registration
Pre-register and save time on Walk morning.
Bring signed Walker Registration Forms and your team members’ donations with
your completed Team Captain Collection Form.
Bring a count of how many shirts you will need and the sizes.

Donations will gratefully be accepted after early registration.
The week before the Walk
The day of the Walk
- Come to Registration and register your team.
- Enter the Walk site together.
- Have a sign with your TEAM name on it.
- Pick up GOODY BAGS.
- Get your team together for a team photo.
- HAVE FUN!!! Enjoy the morning!!
