Grants - Family Caregiver Support ProgramAlzheimer's Arkansas Programs and Services, was awarded funds from the Older Americans Act, National Family Caregiver Support Program Title IIIE. This funding is part of a multi-faceted grant originally awarded to CareLink (the Central Arkansas Area Agency on Aging) in February, 2002. CareLink passed the In-Home or Institutional Respite Services portion of their grant to Alzheimer's Arkansas for distribution throughout CareLink's six county area. This grant is not just for caregivers or persons with Alzheimer's Disease. A caregiver of a loved one with any chronic illness who meets the qualifications can apply for this grant. According to the guidelines, respite services are defined as temporary, substitute supports or living arrangements to provide a brief period of relief or rest for caregivers. It can be in the form of in-home respite, adult day care respite, or facility services for an overnight stay on an intermittent, occasional or emergency basis.
