Ways to Help
Volunteers are a key part of accomplishing the mission of Alzheimer's Arkansas.
What do volunteers do?
All members of the Board of Directors and its committees are volunteers. These members of the community work closely together and with the staff to plan and implement the activities of Alzheimer's Arkansas in the community.
Volunteers also work in the office, helping with tasks such as preparing bulk mail, filing and copying, inputting data, writing thank you notes or hand addressing invitations, organizing brochures and the like.
Volunteers answer the 24-hour Care Phone offering support and information to family caregivers and others who call. Special training is provided for the volunteers.
Volunteers facilitate caregiver support groups throughout the state. A day-long training is provided to facilitators. Volunteers assist with office work such as bulk mailings, filing, making packets, stamping materials, and data entry.
Finally, volunteers are a big part of any special event we do, such as the annual symposium, the Walks, Art to Remember and Thunder & Chrome.
Thousands of volunteer hours each year help Alzheimer's Arkansas fulfill its mission.
